Evangel Intramural Sports
Mission
The Intramural Sports program is a voluntary program designed to
provide for every Evangel University student, regardless of experience
or ability, the benefits of recreational sports activity. The Intramural
Sports program supports the University’s commitment to the integration
of faith, learning and living by encouraging participants to live out
their Christian faith on the court or field, reflecting the character
traits modeled by Jesus Christ.
Objectives
-
Recreation: To provide
an opportunity for students to compete with other students while enjoying
their leisure time in supervised competitive play.
- Social Contact: To
provide an opportunity for students to compete with other students
from other locales and cultures.

Interest in Sports: To develop through
satisfactory participation, an interest in organized competition
that will continue after the university experience.
- Character: To develop qualities of character
befitting a successful Christian life-style e.g. honesty, patience,
self-control, integrity, and respect for others.

Physical Fitness: To provide
an opportunity for students to develop the qualities of strength,
endurance, agility and coordination; to develop and enhance self-confidence.
Activities
The Intramural Sports Coordinator at Evangel University is continually
looking for new activities to add to the program. Student input is
