Five reasons to visit Evangel

October 9th, 2013 | Shannyn Wong

Sure, there’s a lot you can discover about Evangel on the website, and you definitely should check it out thoroughly online during your college search. But if there’s any way possible — any way at all — you’ve got to schedule a campus visit as well. There are a lot of things you just have to see and experience for yourself before you know what’s right for you. A college visit changed my life, and I believe it could be that way for you, too. So here are my top five reasons to visit our campus.

1. Meet the students.

If anything is going to persuade you to attend Evangel, it will be the students. When you become a student here, you become family. Evangel students will give you inside tips and perspectives of what life is like on this campus. Who better to tell you about and show you Evangel than the people who call this place home? The students make Evangel what it is, and when you visit, you will be able to see how you fit with the Evangel family.

2. See where you will live.

If you attend Evangel, you are most likely moving into a residence hall, so you better come check out the place that will be home for the next four years. The campus tours take you in a hall and into a room so that you can see where you could be living. Life happens in the residence halls and coming to visit will give a sneak peak into what life at Evangel is all about. If you’d like, you will even be allowed to spend the night in a dorm room during your visit.

3. Attend a class.

Here’s my chance to brag on Evangel professors … they are AWESOME! One of the biggest blessing of being at Evangel is the people who teach you. They will do more than prepare you for a career; they will pray for your present and your future. Sitting in a class allows you to get to know the faculty, see their teaching style and to experience the learning environment here. And here’s a side note worth mentioning: As a visitor you can experience this first hand without having to do the homework.

4. Worship in Chapel.

Chapel services are part of what makes Evangel a unique college. Evangel’s chapels have the power to change your life and to challenge you in your relationship with Christ. You won’t find another experience like it. You will experience powerful student-led worship teams and hear incredible speakers. Visiting a chapel service allows for you to experience Christ as a corporate body with the students and to let students encourage you as they worship.

 5. Take pictures of the flowers.

Enjoying this beautifully landscaped campus is definitely one of the perks of being an Evangel student. There are bright colored tulips everywhere in the spring, beautiful mums in the fall, and a variety of other amazing flowers and plants throughout the year. You look that your can’t help but smile and let it brighten up your day. When you visit you aren’t only seeing flowers, but you are seeing the campus that you will be a part of every day.

There they are … five reasons to come check out Evangel’s campus. What are you waiting for? Go sign up for a campus visit now!
