Theology and Church Ministries

Department of Bible and Theology

For the Christian wishing to better understand and answer the call of God, today’s world poses questions and challenges that rival any in history. The Department of Bible and Theology seeks to prepare Christian leaders who are equal to the test.

At all stages in the educational process, Bible and Theology professors seek to help students relate their faith and spiritual heritage, especially the Pentecostal/charismatic tradition of Christian theology.  At the heart of all programs lies the goal to  help students relate their faith and spiritual heritage, and provide tools for the careful and wise interpretation of Scripture.

Many students go directly to graduate school, while others enter directly into full-time ministry.

Dr. Robert BergMeet New Testament Professor Dr. Robert Berg

Though Dr. Robert Berg left the Big Apple for the Midwest when he joined the Evangel faculty in 1989, he is still a New Yorker at heart.

“Instructors at Evangel see themselves as fellow-learners; we don’t understand it all, but we are good at helping students strive toward understanding a complex world. I love my colleagues and the students I get to work with each year.”
