Theology
For the Christian wishing to better understand and answer the call of God, today’s world poses questions and challenges that rival any in history. The Department of Theology seeks to prepare Christian leaders who are equal to the test.
Whether interested in pastoral/youth ministry, missions, education, or one of many nontraditional ministries, Evangel offers training and studies to equip impactful servants.
Courses in philosophy, language, missions and the Biblical text are designed to help students understand the content of scripture and provide tools that help students carefully and wisely grasp interpretation and contextualization.
At all stages in the educational process, Theology professors seek to help students relate their faith and spiritual heritage, especially the Pentecostal/charismatic tradition of Christian theology. At the heart of all programs lies the goal to develop Christ-centered decision makers for the home, church and workplace.
Many students go directly to graduate school, while others enter directly into full-time ministry. The Biblical Studies major satisfies the educational requirements for ministerial credentials with the Assemblies of God.
Evangel is also affiliated with the Jerusalem University-College, which offers a program of specialized training in the geography, history and archaeology of the Holy Land. Contact Theology for more information about program options.
