Alumni Resources

Alumni Resources

Evangel alumni join an extended family that can be found all around the world. Career Services is there to serve as a liaison between you and job opportunities available within that extended family.

The office is able to provide continuing assistance in exploring your life calling, no matter how many years have passed since you graduated.

Perhaps it’s time to consider graduate school. There are many resources for gathering information about programs and entrance examinations.

Many career guidance tools are available to help you with your continuing career aspirations.

Cover Letters

Create a cover letter using the same heading from your resume (with your contact information). Then, use standard business format (date, address block for the recipient, greeting, no indentions, closing, etc.). The content of your cover letter should focus on three main areas.

First paragraph: Indicate why you are writing. Mention the specific position – or type of position that interests you.

Second or Third paragraphs: Indicate why you would be a good candidate for the position. Mention some of your skills, experience, education, or knowledge that is relevant. Also, talk about your interest in the specific organization and why you would be a good fit.

Final paragraph: Indicate when and how you might follow up, and otherwise close the letter.

Interviewing

Online mock interview technology will be available soon (summer 2015). Otherwise, individualized appointments may be scheduled to practice interviewing skills, or discuss the interviewing process.
