After checking out scholarships, look into grants, another great way to bring down the cost and pay for college. Grant programs award funds that do not have to be repaid. Sounds great, right? So check out these grant opportunities to see if you qualify. And be sure to apply for them if you do qualify.


    • For Undergraduate Students

      Federal Pell Grant

      The Federal Pell Grant is a federally funded grant program that you do not repay. The amount awarded is based on your federal eligibility and number of hours enrolled at the 100% drop/add period. Read more. Who: Undergraduates (including Professional Studies) with demonstrated need How Much: Up to $5,550 per academic year How Long: While pursuing first undergraduate degree How to Apply: Complete FAFSA annually Deadline: No deadline Other: Amount based on federal guidelines and allocations


      Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG)

      The FSEOG is a federally funded grant program that you do not repay. It is only awarded to undergraduate students who are Federal Pell Grant eligible and have exceptional need. Once the money is depleted no more awards will be made. Students having filed their FAFSA by April 1 will be given first priority. Who: Undergraduates (including Professional Studies) with demonstrated need. Must be a Pell Grant recipient How Much: Up to $1,000 per academic year as determined by federal allocation How Long: While pursuing first undergraduate degree How to Apply: Complete FAFSA annually Deadline: March 1 Other: Subject to availability of funds.


    • For Graduate AND Undergraduate Students

      TEACH Grant

      The Teacher Education Assistance for College and Higher Education (TEACH) Grant Program provides up to $4,000 per year to students who intend to teach in a public or private elementary or secondary school that serves students from low-income families.
