Music Faculty Position: Director of Bands; Professor of Instrumental Music

Evangel University, a Christian institution committed to the integration of faith and learning, invites applications for a tenure-track position in the Department of Music.
A graduate degree (D.M.A. or Ph.D. preferred) in music is required. The candidate for this tenure-track position is an artist and pedagogue of outstanding ability who is willing to contribute fully to the artistic and intellectual life of the Department of Music. Principle duties will include giving direction and supervision to the Evangel University Band Program, which includes the Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Pep Band, as well as studio instrumental music at the college level and possible teaching in secondary areas of academic strength. The candidate must be strongly committed to the mission of Christian higher education within the Assemblies of God and he/she must meet doctrinal qualifications.
- Direction and supervision of the Evangel University Band Program, which includes the Marching Band, Symphonic Band, and Pep Band.
- Teach studio/applied instrumental music (i.e., brass, woodwind, etc.).
- Teaching in secondary areas of academic strength (i.e., instructional technology, music education, music theory, music business, ethnomusicology, and music appreciation).
- Participation and evidence of ongoing professional and/or scholarly development.
- General responsibilities include student recruitment, advising and mentoring, and departmental and committee assignments.
Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
