Tulips begin to bloom – public invited to enjoy

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Once again, Evangel University has invited the local community to visit its campus to see their tulips in bloom.

The grounds crew at Evangel planted 20,000 tulips last fall, and they are now in the early bloom stage.

“With the unseasonably warm weather, those tulips that receive a long day of direct sunlight are already in full bloom,” said Paul K. Logsdon, director of public relations. “The rest of the campus flowerbeds are growing quickly and will be blooming over the next couple of weeks.”

Each spring, Evangel officials invite residents of the Springfield area to campus to enjoy the flowers and take photos.

“It’s fun for us to see parents taking pictures of their babies in amongst the tulips,” said Logsdon.

The Evangel University campus is located at 1111 N. Glenstone Ave.
