SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — An art exhibit featuring the work of Gary Gibson, Evangel University alumnus, will be displayed in the Barnett Fine Arts Center at Evangel University Nov. 2-30.

A reception will be held on Thursday, Nov. 15, 6-8:30 p.m., at which Gibson will give a gallery talk. The event is open to the public, and admission is free.

Gibson’s artwork will add a unique touch to the gallery. He is a photographer, but he incorporates computer graphics into his finished works.

“Art for me grew out of a creative energy that was never able to express itself through traditional art tools,” Gibson said. “I lived with a great deal of frustration until I came face-to-face with photography. Immediately, the camera became my brush, and film became my canvas.”

The pieces presented will feature a wide variety of subjects.

The Evangel University Art Gallery is located on the first floor of the Barnett Fine Arts Center. It is open Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-6 p.m.

Gibson’s website is www.ampersandgraphics.biz/evangelartshow.
