SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — The Evangel University Marching Band will perform in the annual Springfield Christmas parade, beginning at 2 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, in downtown Springfield.

This year’s theme is “A Christmas Wish for Every Child.” The parade will feature more than 60 floats and 10 local marching bands. The parade route will feature the newly renovated Park Central Square and will end at Jordan Valley Park.

This event is free and open to the public.

Members of the Evangel Marching Band are excited to be a part of the festivities in Springfield.

“Celebrating with the Springfield community by participating in the annual Christmas parade is both a highlight and honor for the E.U. Marching Band,” said Dr. Michael Kolstad, music department chair. “This is a wonderful way to celebrate the season.”

The 100-member band also will perform in the Silver Dollar City parade on Saturday, Dec. 1.

Evangel University is a private, Christian university of arts, sciences and professions. With an enrollment of more than 2,000 students from all 50 states and abroad, Evangel offers more than 100 undergraduate academic programs and nine master’s programs.
