Evangel to benefit: EDWARD JONES donates $20,000 to Missouri Colleges Fund for scholarships

SPRINGFIELD, MO — Evangel University is one of 17 private liberal arts colleges and universities in Missouri that will benefit from a $20,000 scholarship grant recently provided by EDWARD JONES to the Missouri Colleges Fund.

This grant underwrites the EDWARD JONES SCHOLARS PROGRAM with scholarships to students attending one of the 17 member schools majoring in business related studies.

The scholarships will be awarded to outstanding qualified students, by the member schools, on the basis of financial need.

“Evangel University is grateful for this gift from Edward Jones,” said Robert H. Spence, president of Evangel. “Edward Jones recognizes the importance of education and significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy.”

MCF member schools are independent baccalaureate degree-granting liberal arts and comprehensive colleges and universities in the state of Missouri. Their income is derived primarily from private sources.

Missouri Colleges Fund member schools include Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Columbia College, Columbia; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Springfield; Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, St. Louis; Hannibal – LaGrange University, Hannibal; Lindenwood University, St. Charles; Maryville University, St. Louis; Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Rockhurst University, Kansas City; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar; Westminster College, Fulton; William Jewell College, Liberty and William Woods University, Fulton.

Evangel is a private, Christian university of arts, sciences and professions that offers more than 100 undergraduate academic programs and 9 master’s programs. Evangel has nearly 2,100 students enrolled from all 50 states and abroad.

The MCF was incorporated in 1952 as a partnership of private enterprise and the member independent colleges and universities in the Show-Me State. The Fund is a 501 (c) (3) tax-exempt corporation; therefore, all contributions to the Fund are tax-deductible up to the limits prescribed by the law.
