SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel University’s Fashion Fever committee, chaired by Kelsey Crabtree, will host their annual women’s event on Thursday, March 20, at 9 p.m. in Crusader Hall. All female students, faculty and staff of EU are invited to attend.

Fashion Fever 2014 mission

This year’s theme is “Breaking Free: Redeemed, Reclaimed, Restored.” Crabtree, junior early childhood education major, said that she chose the theme because it symbolizes freedom in the lives of women and inspires them to be the beautiful, unique creations that God made them.

The event will consist of fashion, hors d’oeuvres, prizes and an inspirational message by Jennifer Beckham. Beckham, a former Disney princess, is a wife, mother, author, evangelist, Bible teacher and the founder of Jennifer Beckham Ministries. She has traveled throughout the United States and Canada teaching practical, biblical principles to both men and women of all ages.

Kerry Marsh, Evangel University Counseling Services staff member, said the theme also reinforces the importance of positive self-image for women.

“The main purpose behind Fashion Fever is to promote a healthy body image, confidence and self-esteem in the women of our campus,” Marsh said.

Fashion Fever fundraising

This year, the Fashion Fever committee is asking for donations to benefit the Springfield Pregnancy Care Center. The committee is asking for toiletries, baby items, women’s clothing and Walmart gift cards. The campus floor that donates the most items will receive VIP seating at Fashion Fever.
