SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – March is National Social Work Month, and the Evangel University social work program has been hosting several activities centered around the national theme, All People Matter.

The month-long celebration will culminate with a luncheon held at Mercy Hospital on Wednesday, March 26, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The luncheon will feature Dr. Alina Lehnert, leadership and strengths development expert, as speaker. Participants will receive one contact hour.

The National Association of Social Workers’ goal for March 2014 is to educate the public about how social work helps to improve relationships within families, make social support systems more effective and build stronger communities.

Dr. Alina Lehnert, LPC, is a Gallup University Certified Strengths Performance Coach. She works with individuals and organizations to study and develop their strengths in order to reach personal and professional goals.
