Evangel’s School of Theology and Church Ministries announces 2014 graduation awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The School of Theology and Church Ministries at Evangel University has announced its graduation awards for 2014.

The awards were given during the baccalaureate service on Thursday, May 1, in the Robert H. Spence Chapel auditorium.

The following Bible & Theology Department awards were presented:

Outstanding Graduate in the Department of Theology — John L. Bakerink from Springfield, Mo.

Outstanding Graduates in Biblical Studies

  • Caleb W. Fritz from Olympia, Wash.
  • Dustin Andrew Vincent Evans from Winfield, Mo.

Outstanding Graduate in Philosophy — Kaitlyn J. Justus from San Dimas, Calif.

Outstanding Graduate in Biblical Languages — Andrew J. Melton from Smithville, Mo.

Twila Brown Edwards Woman of Distinction Award — Mallory Nicole Sidwell Carter from Springfield, Mo.

The following Church Ministries Department awards were presented:

Outstanding Graduate in Church Leadership — John W. Schutte from Tripton, Mo.

Outstanding Graduate in Youth Ministries — William R. Jones from Miamisburg, Ohio

Outstanding Graduate in Preaching — Joshua E. Manley from Needham, Ala.

The following Intercultural Studies Department award was presented:

Outstanding Graduate in Intercultural Studies — Megan E. Stum from Portage, Ind.

This year, a total of 595 degrees were conferred at Evangel’s graduation, including 337 traditional undergraduate, 76 adult studies and 68 master’s degrees. Also included in the total were 76 bachelor’s degrees from Central Bible College and 38 associate’s degrees from James River Leadership Campus.
