Mozart Requiem on Sunday, April 26

The Evangel University Chorale will host and perform Mozart Requiem, with the Springfield Mid-America Singers and Republic High School.

The performance will be on Sunday April 26 at 3 p.m. in the Robert H. Spence Chapel.

It is free, and the public is encouraged to attend.

Tom Matrone is the chair of the Music Department at Evangel University, as well as the artistic director for the Springfield Mid America Singers.

Guest conductor for Dr. Alicia Walker from the University of South Carolina will conduct the performance.

This Mozart Requiem performance is sponsored by Family Pharmacy and Maranatha Village.

Soloists include:

  • Adjunct voice professor Dawn Gutierrez, soprano
  • Adjunct voice professor Angela Holland, alto
  • Chadwick Schools director of music Sean Spyres, tenor
  • Missouri State director of vocal studies Chris Thompson, bass

Springfield Mid-America Singers:

Founded in 1966, Springfield Mid-America has been one of the region’s premier choral organizations.

A nationally recognized group, they are devoted to enriching the community through excellence in choral music.

Their central goal is to involve people in choral music as a community, teach singing as a life-long activity, and artistically express and uplift the human spirit through choral music.
