SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The formal installation of Dr. Michael McCorcle as the provost and vice president of academic affairs for Evangel University will take place on Friday, March 18, 2016, in the Spence Chapel.

An organ prelude will begin at 9:50 a.m., and the ceremony will begin at 10 a.m.

McCorcle joined the Evangel faculty in 1996. He has taught a broad range of courses in the Science & Technology Department, and he served as chair of the department from 2001-2015.

He was appointed to his current leadership position last August. The formal ceremony coincides with the University’s spring Board of Trustees meetings.

“With more than 35 years of experience as an outstanding educator, faculty leader and researcher, Dr. McCorcle has served at Evangel with distinction since his arrival in 1996,” said Dr. Carol A. Taylor, president.

The program includes a formal procession, special music and charges by representatives from the board of trustees, faculty and the student body. The inaugural address will be given by Dr. McCorcle.

The ceremony is free and open to the public. It will also be live-streamed on the Evangel website: www.evangel.edu/spiritual-life/chapel/chapel-video
