Evangel University Chorale Presents: Fauré Requiem

The Evangel University Chorale will present a special concert, Fauré Requiem, as a part of the inaugural “Faith and the Arts Conference” on Saturday, Sept. 23.

The concert is earlier than normal for EU, at 5 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public.

The performance, under the direction of Tom Matrone, will be held in the recital hall of the Barnett Fine Arts Center, which is just located south of the Spence Chapel, facing North Glenstone Ave.

Prior to the concert, there will be a lecture on the history of the requiem genre, at 4:00 p.m., in the Recital Hall. The lecture is open to conference attendees.

The 2017 “Faith and the Arts Conference” will explore dynamic relationships between Christian faith and the arts. It will include presentations and workshops from featured speakers as well as Evangel professors. Guests can register for the one or both days of the “Faith and the Arts Conference” online.

In Saturday’s concert, the Chorale will perform the entire Gabriel Fauré Requiem which has seven movements. This will feature solos from students Joshua Little, Mikaela McGarrah and Drew Hendrickson.
