Minor in Accounting
The Accounting minor requires 20 credits and can be combined with another business major (Finance, Management, Marketing) or a major in a nonbusiness area such as Church Ministries, Intercultural Studies, Computer Science/Information Management, Music, Art or Science to provide a basic foundation for performing accounting functions in your desired career field.
The Accounting minor includes two courses from the business core requirements to provide a basic foundation in accounting along with upper-division major requirements of Intermediate Accounting, Cost Accounting, and Federal Income Tax Accounting I.

Each of Evangel's academic programs is made up of a set of core curriculum, program requirements and electives. The courses listed below are just a small sample of courses that might be taken as a part of this specific program.
|Financial Accounting||An introduction to the basic principles of accounting. Covers the analysis and recording of business transactions, controlling accounts, journalizing, posting, adjusting entries, closing entries, statement preparation, partnerships and corporations, and accounting for taxes, costs, and branches.|
|Intermediate Accounting||An extensive coverage of cash, receivables, installment sales, consignments, inventories, plant and equipment, intangibles, investments, annuities, bonds, liabilities, fund and reserves, stockholders' equity, and profit and loss analysis.|
|Cost Accounting||An introduction to cost accounting, emphasizing accounting for materials, labor costs, manufacturing expenses, job order and process cost systems, and the use of cost information in assisting management in planning and controlling.|
|Managerial Accounting||Emphasis on the use of accounting data for purposes of decision-making, particularly as it relates to budgeting, forecasting, strategies, planning, and capital expenditures in the business environment.|
|Federal Income Tax Accounting||A study of federal tax laws and accounting principles involved, with special emphasis upon income taxes for individuals, partnerships, and corporations.|

NOTE: A minor is a secondary field of interest that is meant to complement your academic major. While your major is chosen for your intended career choice, your minor may be something you pursue for your personal interest or to augment your major.

General Undergraduate Requirements

|Faith||As a boldly Christian university, all of our students have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.|
|Diploma||Graduation from high school, or having the equivalent of a high school diploma such as the General Education Development (GED) examination.|
|Core Subjects||A minimum of a 2.0 GPA in core college prep classes (English, math, social sciences and science with a lab)|
|Grade Average||A "C" average. However, in some cases, a student with a weak academic record may be considered. To remain at Evangel, however, the student must meet scholastic requirements.|
|Standardized Tests||>Entering freshmen should take the ACT or SAT test. The codes for Evangel are as follows: SAT: 6198. ACT: 2296.|
