Biology Education

Prepare future students to learn about how the world works through an understanding of biology and its components.

Discover the scientific process behind life through the lens of molecular, cellular, organismal, and environmental perspectives while preparing to teach biology at the high school level. Our experienced professors provide students with science training in zoology, botany, ecology, history and philosophy of science, and a variety of elective sub-disciplines. Additionally, education courses, practicums, and student teaching prepare students in the art of curriculum and instruction. With a Christian worldview in focus, students will receive the hands-on and practical training needed to excel in the classroom.

Please note: Certification is earned by the completion of the BS Biology Education degree (with specific GPA requirements) as well as passing the content exam as required by Missouri’s Department of Education.
