Minor in Marketing
The Marketing minor can be combined with another business major (Accounting, Finance, Management) or a major in any other nonbusiness area such as Church Ministries, Intercultural Studies, Computer Science/Information Management, Music, Art, Social Work and Science to provide a basic foundation for working with marketing and promotion in you desired vocational area.
The Marketing minor can be combined with another business major (accounting, finance, management) or a major in any other non-business area such as communications, church ministries, intercultural studies, information management, music, art, recreation, and science to provide a basic foundation for working with marketing and promotion in the desired vocational area such as art studio, music store, recreation program marketing, missions, church, and professional service marketing.
The minor requires 21 credits that include three courses from the business core requirements to provide a basic foundation in economics and marketing along with upper division major requirements of consumer behavior, promotions management and six marketing electives.
Each of Evangel's academic programs is made up of a set of core curriculum, program requirements and electives. The courses listed below are just a small sample of courses that might be taken as a part of this specific program.
|Principles of Macroeconomics||Introduction to economic problems of finance, labor, employment, international trade, social problems, price and wage structure, prosperity and depressions, inflation and deflation, and the role of government in the economic field.|
|Principles of Marketing||Basic principles of marketing, including structure and functions with emphasis on the managerial viewpoint.|
|Consumer Behavior||The influence of cultural, social, and psychological factors on consumer behavior.|
|Promotions Management||Examines the management of the promotional mix of the company. Includes a study of the marketing subsystem used to inform and persuade both present and potential customers.|
|International Business||Marketing, management, and finance in an international environment. Emphasis on the cultural and environmental differences in various foreign markets and how those differences affect an international marketing program.|

General Undergraduate Requirements

|Faith||As a boldly Christian university, all of our students have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.|
|Diploma||Graduation from high school, or having the equivalent of a high school diploma such as the General Education Development (GED) examination.|
|Core Subjects||A minimum of a 2.0 GPA in core college prep classes (English, math, social sciences and science with a lab)|
|Grade Average||A "C" average. However, in some cases, a student with a weak academic record may be considered. To remain at Evangel, however, the student must meet scholastic requirements.|
