AGTS Task Force

In response to the $7 million in grants EU has received from the Lilly Foundation for Higher Education, and in anticipation of the 50-year anniversary celebration of AGTS and all that God has done through the decades, the Board of Trustees has determined that an AGTS Task Force be created to reimagine the seminary for the next 50 years. This multi-sector task force is comprised of leaders from within the AG fellowship who have a listening ear to the Holy Spirit and to our constituency. We are confident that they will be generative in their work and chart a fresh way forward for AGTS.

The task force will proceed through three phases:

  1. Discovery – the task force will examine issues that Pentecostal higher education is facing and determine which books and white papers should be reviewed to provide solutions.
  2. Discussion – the task force will hear from selected presenters, including female ministers and leaders, voices across racial and ethnic communities including the Black Fellowship and Hispanic districts, missionaries, and parachurch organizations. Then, the task force will enter into dialogue sessions with current faculty, administrators, and other employees who have invested their careers into AGTS, seeking the will of God.
  3. Decision – the task force will draft and present its report and recommendations to the Leadership Committee and the Board of Trustees for consideration.

The task force will make sincere and earnest efforts to obtain as accurate and complete information as possible regarding the current state of seminary education for the Assemblies of God, including for our AGWM friends around the world.

At General Council in August 2023, we will unveil new plans for AGTS to the fellowship.
