Karen Benitez

Regions: Graduate Studies

Karen Benitez has been working with students pursuing Evangel’s graduate programs since August 2013.

Karen was an Evangel student for two years, graduating with a B.S. in Psychology in 2010. During her time as an undergrad, she was involved as a discipleship leader, resident assistant and activities board organizer.

After graduation, Karen accepted a teaching position in Colorado and also earned a master’s degree from the School of Urban Missions. “Stepping out in faith,” she decided to pursue opportunities outside the classroom and accepted her current position at Evangel.

“I loved the process of earning a graduate degree. My program was amazing and I credit my parents for encouraging me to value education and learn as much as I can,” she says. “I also love Evangel — the feeling of community and support you receive from faculty is unreal. This is where I wanted to be.”

Karen says most people don’t realize how affordable a graduate degree from Evangel can be. “Our rates are competitive with, or in some cases better than, several state universities. The difference is Evangel provides a support system and culture of faith that those schools do not.”

Outside of work, the Bay Area native enjoys cheering on the San Franciso 49ers and San Francisco Giants.
