Tell us about your career and what you do now.
Over the past two years, we have been based in London starting up a joint venture between Walmart and McKesson focused on sourcing pharmaceuticals for the US market by leveraging our associated combined scale and footprint. I have been with Walmart for 10 years in a variety of finance roles form accounting, mergers and acquisitions, real estate, and IT.
What is your favorite memory from Evangel?
Lifelong friends, not to mention I met my beautiful wife at an Evangel Homecoming.
What advice would you give a current student preparing for the workforce?
Be Fast. The world today is changing and shifting faster than any time in human history. The pace of entrepreneurship, business, technology, and communication is moving faster – know it and figure out how to capitalize on it.
Be Passionate. The best entrepreneurs and business people are the ones who believe in their product, their company, their technology, and their purpose. Find the one that motivates you and makes you want to get out of bed in the morning – you will be better for it.
Be Better. Find ways to become better at your role, your passion, relationship with Christ, or spouse. To improve, be a continuous learner – school never stops, I hate to tell you.
What would you look for if you were in a position to hire new graduates from Evangel?
I would look for someone who is intelligent, willing to learn, energized, collaborative with an entrepreneurial spirit, technology-enabled/oriented, and a global thinker.
