Diane Awbrey, Ph.D.

Dr. Diane Awbrey graduated from Evangel University with a B.S. in English. She earned an M.A. in English from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1984 and a Ph.D. in Renaissance literature from Missouri in 1995. She has taught English at colleges in Kansas, Missouri, and Vermont. She now teaches literature and composition at Evangel University where she holds a full professorship. She has also owned her own business, evaluated and edited manuscripts for publication, and developed entrepreneurship programs produced by the Kauffman Foundation of Kansas City. Diane is married to David Awbrey, a journalist for 30 years and author of the books Finding Hope in the Age of Melancholy and A Journalist’s Education in the Classroom. They have one daughter, Grace.
