Dr. Lisa Street teaches a variety of social work courses, including social work theory; practice with individuals, families, and groups; social policy; and senior practicum. As Coordinator of Field Education, Dr. Street helps social work students find the site for their 450-hour senior internship. Dr. Street supervises students as they apply classroom learning to the real world with actual clients.

Dr. Street’s research interests focus on social work education, particularly field education in social work, practicum supervision, admission practices, and faith integration.

Before she began teaching, Dr. Street’s practice experience included medical social work in the emergency center and traumatic brain injury rehabilitation, adoptions, juvenile justice, drug courts, and social work administration. She was the sole or co-author of grant awards totaling over $1,780,000. Grantors included the Department of Justice, Bureau of Justice Assistance and the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation’s Reclaiming Futures. In the classroom, Dr. Street connects her practice experiences to theoretical concepts to help the content come alive for students.

In 2015, Dr. Street joined the faculty at Evangel. Prior, she was a Clinical Assistant Professor with the Social Work Program at Missouri State University for seven years, holding administrative appointments as the Field Education Coordinator and MSW Program Coordinator.
