Justin Stanton

Justin Stanton is the Director of Bands at Evangel University where he oversees the Concert Band, Jazz Band, Jazz Combo and Athletic Bands. He joined the Evangel faculty in the Fall of 2021. He received a Master’s degree in Education from Arkansas State University (’11) and a Bachelor’s degree in Music Education from Evangel University (’07).

Prior to his appointment at Evangel, Justin spent 8 years in public education as a Jr. High/High School band director and elementary music teacher in both Missouri and Oklahoma. In addition to his time in the classroom, he spent 5 years active duty with the U.S. Army band as an Electric Bass player. During that time, he was stationed at Ft. Lewis, Washington (56th Army Band) and Ft. Sill, Oklahoma (77th Army Band). Since separating from active duty, Justin has continued his military service part time with the Oklahoma National Guard Band (145th Army Band) in Oklahoma City and is currently with the Missouri National Guard Band (135th Army Band) in Springfield, MO. He is an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God.

Justin and his wife, Kara, are both originally from Oklahoma and now reside in Nixa, MO. They have 2 sons, Grayson (8) and Ruston (3) as well as two dogs, Dory and Maestro.
