New students launch college careers with move-in day on August 24

August 2419, 2012 |

Springfield offered up perfect weather for Evangel’s annual move-in day for new students. About 500 new students, including freshmen and transfers, moved in to the residence halls on Friday, August 24. As per tradition, an army of faculty, staff and returning students were on hand to help them unload and get settled.

New students have come from 45 states and numerous foreign countries, including Bolivia, Spain, Hungary, Congo, Kenya, Indonesia, Singapore, Phillipines, China and Sri Lanka, as well as our neighbors Mexico, Canada and Bahamas.

New students spent most of the day unpacking and getting settled. At 3 p.m., they were invited to the Welcome Extravaganza in the Chapel. EU Launch activities are scheduled over the next week to assist new students in their transition to college life. Classes start on Wednesday, August 29. See the full schedule of events.
