SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel University’s Concert Choir will be performing at “A Night to Remember: An Original Musical Tribute to Titanic” at 12 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the Titanic Museum in Branson.

The program will be held to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic tragedy. Thousands of people are expected to travel from all over the U.S. and abroad for this event, which will conclude with a ceremonial lighting of the Eternal Flame at the ship’s bow.

The choir will be one of three featured groups and will perform “It Is Well With My Soul” and “Jesus, My Lord, My Life, My All.”

They will also perform “How Great Thou Art,” accompanied by the Springfield Symphony Orchestra, and “The Lord Bless You and Keep You” with the Sing His Praises Children’s Concert Choir. The children’s choir is directed by Krista Smith, 2001 Evangel graduate.

“We are very excited about getting to be instrumental in reliving this history,” said Sharon Wilkins, director of Evangel’s Concert Choir.

Wilkins will serve as the stage director for the program. Leah Zielbauer, Evangel senior theatre/music major from Golden, Colo., will serve as the assistant stage director.

Eight Evangel students will assemble and remove the set for the tribute, which will be held outside.
