Enterprise Holdings Foundation awards $15,200 scholarship grant to Missouri Colleges Fund

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Evangel University is one of 16 private liberal arts colleges and universities in Missouri that will benefit from a $15,200 scholarship grant recently provided by Enterprise Holdings Foundation to the Missouri Colleges Fund.

This grant from Enterprise Holdings Foundation will provide scholarships to students studying in a business-related field with special emphasis on minority candidates.  

“The Missouri Colleges Fund is very grateful for this gift from Enterprise Holdings Foundation,” said Mike Backer, MCF president. “Enterprise Holdings Foundation recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy.

“Evangel University is grateful to be among the recipients of this generous gift to higher education,” said Dr. Robert H. Spence, president. “Many students would not be able to attend college without the assistance of scholarships, and we are indebted to Enterprise Holdings Foundation and the Missouri Colleges Fund for providing resources to educate the workforce of tomorrow.”

The MCF was formed in 1952 as a partnership of private enterprise and the member independent colleges and universities in the Show-Me state.

Missouri Colleges Fund member schools include Avila University and Rockhurst University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Columbia College, Columbia; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University and Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, Maryville University and Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Hannibal–LaGrange College, Hannibal; Park University, Parkville; Southwest Baptist University, Bolivar; Westminster College and William Woods University, Fulton; and William Jewell College, Liberty.

Evangel University is a private, Christian university of arts, sciences and professions that offers more than 100 undergraduate academic programs and nine master’s programs. The fall 2011 enrollment reached a record 2,168 students.
