UPS Foundation awards $40,800 scholarship grant to Missouri Colleges Fund

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Evangel University is one of 17 private liberal arts colleges and universities in Missouri that will benefit from a $40,800 scholarship grant recently provided by The UPS Foundation to the Missouri Colleges Fund.
This grant from The UPS Foundation will provide a $2,400 scholarship to first generation, low-income, minority or new American students at each of the 17 member schools.
“The Missouri Colleges Fund is very grateful for this gift from The UPS Foundation,” said Mike Backer, MCF president. “The UPS Foundation recognizes the importance of education and the significant impact that an educated workforce has on Missouri’s economy.”
“Evangel University is grateful to be among the recipients of this generous gift to higher education,” said Dr. Robert H. Spence, president. “Many students would not be able to attend college without the assistance of scholarships, and we are indebted to The UPS Foundation and the Missouri Colleges Fund for providing resources to educate the workforce of tomorrow.”
The MCF was formed in 1952 as a partnership of private enterprise and the member independent colleges and universities in the Show-Me state.
MCF member schools include the following: Avila University, Kansas City; Central Methodist University, Fayette; Columbia College, Columbia; Culver-Stockton College, Canton; Drury University, Springfield; Evangel University, Springfield; Fontbonne University, St. Louis; Hannibal LaGrange University, Hannibal; Lindenwood University, St. Charles; Maryville University, St. Louis; Missouri Baptist University, St. Louis; Park University, Parkville; Rockhurst University, Kansas City; Southwest Baptist University,Bolivar; Westminster College, Fulton; William Jewell College, Liberty; and William Woods University, Fulton.
