SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Back by popular demand, Evangel University will present EU’s Got Talent, an annual talent competition showcasing Evangel students.

The top five acts will perform for the homecoming audience at 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12. Audience members will have the chance to vote for their favorite competitors.

There is no charge for admission, and the public is invited to attend.

Like the popular NBC television show, the competition is open to all types of talent, from singers to instrumentalists to theatrical performers.

This event was launched in 2010 as a part of Evangel’s Homecoming week celebration.

“EU’s Got Talent has been such a huge success these last couple of years. We had to bring it back,” said Junior James Ruckdeschell, Activities Board president. “We were thrilled with the number and quality of contestants, and we are already hearing a great buzz for this year.”

Participants will compete in several levels of competition throughout the week. Prizes are awarded as follows: $500 for first place, $400 for second place, $300 for third place, $200 for fourth place, and $100 for fifth place.
