SPRINGFIELD Mo. — Author and Evangel University graduate Eric Praschan will speak to the student body on Thursday, Jan. 17, during the 10 a.m. chapel time.
Following the presentation, he will have a book-signing party for his first novel, Therapy for Ghosts, in the Evangel bookstore.
Both events are free and open to the public.
Praschan graduated with a B.A. in English from Evangel in 2004.
As a student, he was one of the original members of The Skinny Improv. He was also active in Evangel’s theatre program, holding lead parts in The Importance of Being Earnest, Fiddler on the Roof and Much Ado About Nothing.
His first novel, Therapy for Ghosts, was inspired by health episodes he experienced which left him temporarily paralyzed and mute. During the course of his recovery, he penned the novel with the hope that it will inspire readers to overcome adversity with perseverance and courage.
“Therapy for Ghosts explores what happens when the line between survival and self-destruction becomes hopelessly blurred,” said Praschan.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Eric Praschan lives in Columbia, Missouri, with his wife, Stephanie. He holds a B.A. in English and an M.A. in theological studies.
Praschan is well seasoned in public speaking, teaching, training and writers’ workshops. His engaging speaking style caters well to both students and adults in academic, professional and church settings.
He has been writing for 20 years, concentrating on suspense fiction. He is working on the sequel to Therapy for Ghosts, with a tentative release date set for fall 2013.
