Evangel students Kyle Nelson and Katelyn Lawler to perform junior recital

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — Evangel University juniors Kyle Nelson and Katelyn Lawler will perform a joint recital at 7:30 p.m., Friday, March 22, in the Barnett Fine Arts Recital Hall.

There is no charge for admission, and the public is invited to attend.

Nelson will play the saxophone, and Lawler will play the violin.

The program includes the following pieces from Nelson:

  • Sonata (Movement I. Allegro, Movement II. Andantino Cantabile, Movement III. Allegro Vivace), by Lawson Lunde
  • Sonata (Movement I, With Vigor), by Paul Creston

The following pieces will be performed by Lawler:

  • Concerto No. 9 in A Minor, Op. 104, 1st mvmt., by Charles de Beriot
  • Romance in F Major, Op. 50, by Ludwig van Beethoven
  • Concerto in G Minor, Op. 26, I. Vorspiel, by Max Bruch

Jonathan Mussetter, 2011 Evangel graduate, will provide accompaniment for Lawler. James Benecasa, 2012 Evangel graduate, will provide accompaniment for Nelson.

Nelson is a music industry major. He is the son of Charles and Heather Nelson of Broken Bow, Okla.

Lawler is a music education major. She is the daughter of Jay and Lisa Lawler of Quincy, Ill.
