Evangel graduate Kyle Ragsdale, sports marketing expert, to speak on Monday, Nov. 25

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. –– Kyle Ragsdale, chief marketing officer at Billy Casper Golf — the largest owner-operator of golf courses, country clubs and resorts in the USA — will speak in two sessions on Monday, Nov. 25, at Evangel University.

His first session is a general lecture on sports management at 10 a.m. in Trask Hall, Room 101. He will also speak to a facilities management class at 11 a.m. in Zimmerman Hall, Room 209.

At BCG, Ragsdale oversees the development and implementation of all sales, marketing communications and public relations efforts.

He is also an adjunct faculty member at Georgetown University, where he teaches sports marketing in the Master of Sports Management program.

“Kyle was previously the associate athletic director for external affairs at Georgetown, where he was recognized as one of the top marketers in college athletics,” said Donovan Nelson, assistant professor of kinesiology at Evangel.

Prior to working at Billy Casper Golf, he was the vice president of business and finance at SB Nation, the largest online network of sports communities.

While there, he was the lead relationship executive for some of the biggest consumer brands including Sprint, Procter & Gamble, Samsung, Microsoft, NFL Networks, BMW, M&M Mars, Coca Cola Brands, Starbucks and more.

“This is a great opportunity to meet and network with an Evangel alumnus who is currently working in the highest level of professional sports,” said Nelson.

Ragsdale graduated from Evangel in 1988 with a B.B.A. in accounting. He holds an M.B.A. from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, and he is a Certified Public Accountant.
