Evangel University Films to present spring movie, De-Feathered, on Friday, April 25

Published on Apr 10, 2014 by Michaela Smith

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – EU Films will premiere its original movie, De-Feathered, on Friday, April 25, in the Barnett Fine Arts Auditorium. There will be two showings of the movie at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m.

General admission tickets are $2 at the door, and student admission is $1.  De-Feathered DVDs will be available for presale at the ticket booth for $7.

De-Feathered is directed by junior Cameron Dinwiddie, film major, who wrote the original story with the producer, senior Esy Jurado, broadcasting major.

“The film features a number of scenes on the road as the main characters travel together,” said Dr. Cameron Pace, film advisor and communication department chair. “This presented new challenges to the student filmmakers in that the car was moving most of the time. Students learned new techniques for cinematography related to camera angles both in and outside of the vehicle.”

Synopsis

When both their plans go astray, an upper middle-class woman and an extremely sheltered young man journey through an unlikely adventure together. De-Feathered includes action, mystery and fun.

De-Feathered is a road trip comedy with hints of science fiction.

“We are doing something that EU Films has never done before,” said junior Jonathan May, director of photography. “I am excited to see the whole production come together.”

Junior Jennifer Walk and senior Caleb Pipkin wrote the screenplay from an original story by Dinwiddie and Jurado.
