Evangel University Department of Music announces 2014 graduation awards

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Evangel University Department of Music has announced its graduation awards for 2014.

The awards were given during the baccalaureate service on Thursday, May 1, in the Robert H. Spence Chapel auditorium.

The following awards were presented:

Academic Achievement in Music Performance — Emily Elizabeth Riell Engebretson from Las Vegas, Nev.

Academic Achievement in Music Education — Erin E. Malone from Waynesville, Mo.

Academic Achievement in Church Music — Shelby K. Weir from Nixa, Mo.

Academic Achievement in Music — Joy D. Grubb from Argyle, N.Y.

Academic Achievement in Music Industry — Nathan R. Raught from Nieuw-Vennep, Netherlands

Outstanding Senior Musician — Krystelle K. Arneson from Brooks, Ore.

Hallet Outstanding Worship Leadership Awards

  • Jacob M. Clark from Lockesburg, Ark.
  • Matthew D. Elenbaas from Helena, Mont.

This year, a total of 595 degrees were conferred at Evangel’s graduation, including 337 traditional undergraduate, 76 adult studies and 68 master’s degrees. Also included in the total were 76 bachelor’s degrees from Central Bible College and 38 associate’s degrees from James River Leadership Campus.
