SPRINGFIELD, MO — Chris Belcher has been named vice president for enrollment management at Evangel University. His areas of responsibility include the offices of admissions, student financial aid and retention.

“In Chris, we have someone who has a passion for Evangel’s mission. He brings strength to our enrollment management efforts and to the strategic work of our leadership team,” said President Carol A. Taylor. “He knows the tools and resources to develop and lead teams to achieve goals. Throughout his career, Chris has been engaged in professional associations, professional development, and consulting groups that extend his perspective beyond one institution.”

For the past 25 years, Belcher served at Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Okla., where he advanced in his career through several divisions, each with increasing levels of responsibility and leadership. Most recently, he served as senior director of undergraduate admissions and recruitment.

Belcher holds a Master of Business Management with a concentration in human resources from ORU. He has strengthened his professional development through associations such as the National Research Center for College and University Admissions (NRCCUA), and the North American Coalition for Christian Admissions Professionals (NACCAP). Belcher has also worked directly with industry-leading research and enrollment marketing firms such as Noel-Levitz and Maguire & Associates.

“I believe my past experiences in marketing, enrollment channel development, communication planning and strategic use of financial aid aligns well with the current needs and strategic goals of Evangel,” Belcher said.

At Evangel, the office of admissions oversees the recruitment and admissions process for all new students, including undergraduate freshmen, transfers, graduate and adult studies students.

The student financial aid office oversees financial aid packaging, compliance, disbursement, funds management and customer service.

“I believe the university is poised for growth. Dr. Taylor has put together a great leadership team, and I am honored to be a part of it,” Belcher said.

“We are excited to have Chris join us at Evangel,” said Dr. Michael Kolstad, vice president for university advancement. “His expertise and experience will positively impact the university for years to come.”

Prior to his move to Evangel, Belcher coached youth baseball and served as worship pastor in his local church.

“I am thrilled to now be serving here at Evangel and look forward to getting connected to the greater Springfield community,” Belcher said.
