The Arts @ EU Scholarship Days blend passion and education into opportunity for students

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. — High school and transfer students with a strong background in the arts are invited to attend The Arts @ EU Scholarship Days at Evangel University.

The events will begin on Thursday evening Oct. 29 and end Saturday afternoon Oct. 31, 2015.

The Arts @ EU will focus on opportunities that prospective Evangel students have to pursue their passion in an educational setting, grow in skill and knowledge, and supplement their financial aid through arts-focused scholarships.

Guests will experience Evangel University’s programs through in-class observation and master classes. Attendees will also explore the campus and interact with Evangel students while they stay with EU hosts.

The Arts @ EU Showcase

Friday night will feature a showcase that is open to the Springfield community and will feature many of Evangel’s art programs through performance and video.

The showcase will take place at 7 p.m. on Oct. 30, in Robert H. Spence chapel.

There is no cost for the Friday event and registration is not required.

Opportunities to explore

At Evangel University, the arts encompass a wide variety of programs, including: music, visual arts, creative writing, theatre, graphic design, broadcast and film.

Evangel offers a variety of ways for students interested in the arts to pursue their passion regardless of their chosen major or minor program.

Vocal and instrumental music groups travel the country and the world, ministering to others through song; studio art students host exhibits in the Barnett Fine Arts Gallery; the Evangel University Marching Band performs at home games and other local events; and participants in theatre programs stage performances for the Evangel community and general public.
