Published on Apr 5, 2016 by Mallory Johnson

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel University music major Emily Stokes will present her senior recital on April 8, at 5 p.m. in the chapel of the Assemblies of God Theological Seminary.

Admission is free and the public is invited to attend. AGTS is located on the north end of Evangel’s campus, at the corner of Glenstone and Division.

Stokes is a worship leadership major and will be accompanied by a band consisting of Evangel University students Jeremy Sparks on drums, Laura Earlenbaugh on keyboards, Michael Fuenhe on bass, Michael Finch on acoustic guitar and vocals, Emily Brown on violin and Drew Tate on electric guitar.

A native of Alton, Ill., Emily is the daughter of Dave and Neva Stokes. “The plan for now is to move back home and continue to lead worship at a church plant called New Hope Church,” she said.

“The worship leadership major at Evangel prepares students for a music ministry position, such as choir director, orchestra director or worship music leader,” said Dr. Bonnie Jenkins, professor of music. “It is also a good track for a student who intends to pursue graduate studies in music.”
