SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – Evangel University’s College Republican chapter will host a Religious Liberty lecture with attorney Josh Hawley and author David Barton on Thursday, April 21, at 5:30 p.m. in the recital hall of the Barnett Fine Arts Center.

There will be no charge for admission, and the public is invited to attend.

Barnett Fine Arts Center is located on the south side the Robert H. Spence Chapel, facing Glenstone Avenue. Parking is available in front of the chapel.

• Josh Hawley is a leading national expert on the issue of religious freedom. He was co-counsel on the landmark Supreme Court case Burwell v. Hobby Lobby Stores, a case that many consider to be the most important decision on First Amendment liberties in decades.

• David Barton is the founder and president of WallBuilders, a national pro-family organization that presents America’s forgotten history and heroes, with an emphasis on our moral, religious and constitutional heritage.

David has received numerous national and international awards, including Who’s Who in Education, DAR’s Medal of Honor, and the George Washington Honor Medal from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.

He is the author of numerous best-selling books, with the subjects drawn largely from his massive library of tens of thousands of original writings of the Founding Fathers.
