The organization features a professional program of certification for church administrative leaders that has been in place since 1966. The designation of Certified Church Administrator (CCA) is given to those who complete the certification program.

Walls is an associate professor of pastoral leadership at AGTS, and he has coordinated the annual seminars at the AGTS Training Center for 14 years. He has also served on the Professional Training and Standards Committee of the national organization, and he has served as a guest speaker at numerous TCN chapter meetings in the Midwest.

The award was presented on July 8 at The Church Network Conference, which was held at the Gaylord Hotel & Convention Center in Dallas, Texas.

Walls earned his Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from Evangel in 1978, a Master’s of Divinity from AGTS in 1997, and a Doctor of Ministry from AGTS in 2004.
