Evangel University offers free Leadership Seminar, July 6-7

Published on Jun 26, 2017 by Paul K. Logsdon

The faculty of Evangel University’s Master of Organizational Leadership program are hosting two open class sessions, welcoming community leaders to join graduate-level students on July 6 and 7, 2017, from 9 to 10 a.m.

Offered as a Leadership Seminar, both sessions are free, and continuing education credits are available.

The guest professor will be Heath Adamson, author, lecturer and national youth director of the Assemblies of God.

“As the national leader for a ministry serving more than half a million students and a team of more than 50 regional leaders, Adamson is a visionary leader who routinely thinks and plans for the development of future leaders,” said Dr. Jeff Fulks, Evangel’s MOL program coordinator.

“We want to encourage thinking on leadership ideas,” Fulks explained, “and Evangel is pleased to open these sessions as a Leadership Seminar for our local community.”

  • In Thursday’s session, Adamson will address significant differences in leading organizations from grass roots levels to national responsibilities.
  • On Friday, he will share his experience of implementing a strategic plan in a large and diverse organization.

Adamson is a 2013 graduate of Evangel’s MOL program and is currently a Ph.D. candidate at Chester University. In addition, he is intrinsically involved with the World Evangelical Alliance Youth Commission, and he chairs both the Empowered 21’s Next Generation Network and the Next Gen Commission for the World Assemblies of God Fellowship.

Busy as he is, he looks forward to returning to Evangel and sharing with Evangel’s Summer Residency Program and the Springfield community.

“Evangel teaches a perspective on leadership that I’ve not seen anywhere else,” said Adamson. “In addition to being good stewards of our time and money, Evangel taught me that we are to be good stewards of relationships, of the talents of other people, even the dreams of others.

“A confident leader stewards others,” he added. “A good leader will fuel the dreams of those with which he serves.”

The MOL Program

The Master of Organizational Leadership program at Evangel University is designed to address a critical need for the next generation of leaders — leaders for business, the church, nonprofits and higher education.

Offered either in a traditional seated format, or a hybrid online format, the MOL at Evangel is designed to present students with a framework for thinking about organizational systems and how they can be developed with quality and effectiveness.

“The classes cover a wide range of topics on leadership, quality management, communications and strategic planning,” said Fulks. “The program engages leaders who desire to improve their organizations and improve their job performance.”

Evangel’s MOL offers personal mentoring and support of a private Christian university with affordable tuition rates comparable to state universities. The program is designed to be completed in two years.
