Four Evangel ensembles to perform at All Saints Anglican Church

The Evangel University Music Department will present a Choral and Orchestral concert at All Saints Anglican Church on Sunday, Nov. 19, at 4 p.m. The concert will feature performances by the Evangel University Orchestra, Chorale, Sinfonia, and Women’s Vocal Ensemble.

The concert is free and open to the public.

All Saints Anglican Church is located at 2751 E. Galloway St., Springfield, Mo.

On the concert program, the 52-member Evangel University Orchestra and the 32-member Sinfonia will perform both full orchestra and chamber orchestra works by Bizet, C. T. Smith, Debussy, and Nelhybel.

The University Orchestra will perform under guest conductor, John Shows, professor emeritus of music. The Sinfonia will be led by three student conductors.

The Evangel University Chorale and Women’s Ensemble will perform works by Alice Parker, Dan Forest, Jake Runestad, Andrea Ramsey, Eric Whitacre and Rosephanye Powell.

Both the Chorale and Women’s Ensemble perform under the direction of Tom Matrone, chair of the EU Music Department.

The Evangel University Department of Music offers bachelor’s degrees in music, music education, music performance, recording technology and worship leadership. Evangel is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music and the Missouri Association of Departments & Schools of Music.
