Service awards presented to faculty & staff at Christmas celebration

December 12, 2017 | Paul K. Logsdon

The Evangel University family gathered for the annual Christmas  banquet on Friday, Dec. 8, 2017, in the Crusader Dining Hall. Members of the faculty, staff, retirees and spouses enjoyed the music, fellowship, a humorous game led by Hector Cruz and an amazing buffet dinner.

One highlight of the annual event was when President Carol Taylor and members of her leadership team gave special recognition to individual employees for their years of service. Nearly 50 employees were honored this year with service awards for milestone anniversaries — each received a certificate and a gift of appreciation.

The senior member of this group was Steve Jenkins who has been a member of the faculty for more than 40 years. He is in his 36th year as Evangel’s head men’s basketball coach, and is a member of three Halls of Fame.
