BREAKING NEWS: We have just confirmed that Dan Betzer, former Revivaltime speaker, will be present at the services on Sunday!

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. – The Revivaltime Choir is reuniting for the first time since 1995 to perform during two services at Evangel Temple Christian Center on Oct. 16, 2016.

Evangel Temple is located at 2020 E. Battlefield in Springfield. The classic service will begin at 9 a.m., and the contemporary service will begin at 10:30 a.m.

Revivaltime was a 30-minute weekly broadcast heard on the ABC radio network from 1953 to 1995.

“The Revivaltime Choir was comprised primarily of students from Central Bible College,” said Doug Jenkins, former choir member and current director of CBC alumni relations at Evangel University.

“A large group of former choir members, along with other area CBC alumni, are meeting in Branson on Oct. 14-16. Their reunion will culminate with the performances at Evangel Temple,” added Jenkins.

National gospel music recording artist Gloria Elliot got her start as a soloist with the Revivaltime Choir. She will be singing with the choir on Sunday and will once again be a featured soloist.

The broadcast originated from Springfield and was sponsored by the Assemblies of God. The show’s hosts were C.M. Ward (1953-1978) and Dan Betzer (1979-1995).

For decades, more than 10,000 letters from listeners poured into the Revivaltime offices each month. The show was an immediate success, and by 1960, the U.S. radio audience alone was approximately 12 million people.
