Due to the unseasonably cool April weather, the tulips at Evangel University are blooming a little later this year, but the message is out — “Bring your kids and bring your camera!”
More than 9,000 tulips are in bloom across the front of the Evangel campus, and once again Springfield area residents are invited to visit the campus to enjoy the display of color.
The annual photo opportunity has become a local tradition.
“The Evangel grounds crew has done a great job once again,” said Evangel spokesman Paul K. Logsdon. “The tulips in the flower beds facing south are in full bloom now, and the rest are blooming brighter every day. We are happy to share them with our friends and neighbors,” he said.
The Evangel University campus is located at 1111 N. Glenstone Ave. in Springfield.
