The Allied Health major
This program prepares students for entry into a doctoral level field in either physical therapy or occupational therapy as well as graduate school in disciplines related to: occupational therapy, exercise physiology, biomechanics, and kinesiology.
Doctors of physical therapy (DPT) help people with physical injuries or illnesses of to regain range of movement and control their pain.
Doctors of occupational therapy (DOTs) help people with disabilities, injuries or illness recover and cope through the use of common, everyday tasks.
Graduates of Evangel's Pre-Physical Therapy are also prepared for graduate school in disciplines related to occupational therapy, exercise physiology, biomechanics and kinesiology.

Each of Evangel's academic programs is made up of a set of core curriculum, program requirements and electives. The courses listed below are just a small sample of courses that might be taken as a part of this specific program.
|Kinesiology||The mechanical aspects of human motion and the structure and function of these motions in physically active individuals with or without pathological involvement.|
|Cardiac structure and functions||The course provides students with the basic concepts of cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation programs and the knowledge and skills needed to design, implement and assess progress of rehabilitation programs to return individuals to a healthy state, full functional fitness or athletic performance.|
|Assessment in Athletic Injury: Upper Extremity||This course will give students skills in evaluating upper body athletic injuries. This will include identifying common illness and diseases, as well as proper referral procedures.|
|Exercise Assessment and Prescription||Application of exercise physiological concepts to exercise prescription and programming including analysis of techniques used for health appraisal, risk stratification and fitness assessment, and evaluation of strategies used to promote physical activity.|
|Personal Training Practicum||Field experience for student trainers to work with clients of various ages, fitness levels, experiences, and goals.|

General Undergraduate Requirements
The following are general requirements for all students beginning an undergraduate program at Evangel. For more information visit Undergraduate Admissions Requirements.
|Faith||As a boldly Christian university, all of our students have made a profession of faith in Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.|
|Diploma||Graduation from high school, or having the equivalent of a high school diploma such as the General Education Development (GED) examination.|
|Core Subjects||A minimum of a 2.0 GPA in core college prep classes (English, math, social sciences and science with a lab)|
|Grade Average||A "C" average. However, in some cases, a student with a weak academic record may be considered. To remain at Evangel, however, the student must meet scholastic requirements.|
|Standardized Tests||>Entering freshmen should take the ACT or SAT test. The codes for Evangel are as follows: SAT: 6198. ACT: 2296.|
