Minor in Greek
Students will benefit from studying Hellenistic Greek as insights enhance teaching and preaching as well as one’s spiritual formation. Upon completion of a Greek minor, students will have requisite skills in New Testament exegesis, textual criticism and application. With a Greek minor, those students who go on to seminary will enter their studies with most, if not all, of the competencies necessary for graduate work.
This 22-credit minor offers six courses. The first two courses cover the essentials of Greek grammar and syntax. The remaining courses delve into biblical and Hellenistic texts. Our purpose is to learn to read, interpret and apply the books of the New Testament. Students planning a career as a pastor, evangelist, missionary or Bible translator often choose the Greek minor.
