This program allows students to earn a master’s degree in clinical mental health counseling within 9 semesters while providing extended breaks between semesters. Students will be enrolled in a maximum of three courses in any given semester. Courses will extend 15 weeks during the fall and spring semester and 7 weeks during the summer.  In addition to asynchronous weekly assignments, students will engage in synchronous learning (live) on a weekly basis. Required courses are consistent with most education requirements for state licensure.  To determine whether this program meets your state certification requirements for school counselors, contact Dr. Christine Arnzen at arnzenc@evangel.edu or peruse state certification requirements here

Evangel University is accredited through the Higher Learning Commission. This program will not be eligible to apply for a specialty (program) accreditation until the spring 2025. Once an accreditation is affirmed, current students and those graduating within 18 months of the decision will be covered under the specialty program accreditation.

Program start date: Summer (mid June – in person residency Wednesday evening – Saturday afternoon)
