Compassion for the Suicidal Soul

This all-day training will provide attendees with a framework to address suicidal thinking with clients, students, and congregants. Learn from those who have personal experience with the devastating impact of suicide and those who have unique, positive, and compassionate interventions to treat those in crisis. The training will consist of multiple breakout sessions, tailored uniquely to clinical mental health professionals, school counselors, and ministerial staff.

Objectives

  • Summarize basic suicidal risk factors
  • Apply prevention strategies across populations
  • Practice assesment techniques
  • Develop treatment and response plans, specific to suicidal individuals
  • Create compassionate management strategies of a pre- and post-suicidal individual
  • Discuss how to integrate an individual with suicidal history into the community (school, church, family, work).

Schedule 2 plenary sessions; 2 breakout sessions; lunch on your own
Location 1435 N. Glenstone Ave., Springfield, Missouri 65802. Training will be at the AGTS building on the northwest side of the Evangel University campus.
Registration Seating is limited, registration will remain open as space is available
